The Solar Field Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining residential solar systems to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction, supporting ongoing service needs throughout the system's lifespan.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair solar systems onsite.
Document service visits and complete job closeout reports.
Schedule site visits with customers and coordinate with field teams.
Provide feedback to improve installation quality and execution.
Assist with pre-energization closeout to ensure system readiness.
Perform site surveys, inspections, and document collection.
Deliver high-quality service and installation work as the primary field representative.
Communicate with homeowners regarding visit times and confirmations.
Maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for site visits.
Perform operations and maintenance support, including system monitoring.
Conduct safety and quality audits, site inspections, and job closeout reviews.
Perform field installations of PV, storage, MPU, or structural upgrades.
Investigate damages and claims related to solar systems.
Requirements
Electrical License only required in MA, a plus elsewhere
3 years of installing, repairing, and troubleshooting residential solar storage systems
General knowledge of residential home maintenance and repair, ability to go the extra mile in remediating customer issues beyond the scope of solar system maintenance
Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and able to work on your feet for long periods of time
Ability to work in extreme environments such as hot sun, cold, rain, crawl spaces, etc.
Electrical experience is a plus
1 year of working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs, and performing repetitive duties such as lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time
Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout the assigned workday
Ability to safely handle and maintain basic hand and power tools used for installation
Regular, reliable and predictable attendance
Must have a valid state driver’s license
Must have a clean driving record
