Job Description
The Field Service Technician at Palmetto is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting residential solar systems to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction, while also assisting with installations, inspections, and ongoing service needs throughout the system's lifespan.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair solar systems onsite
- Document service visits and complete job closeout reports
- Schedule and coordinate site visits with customers
- Support installation, job closeout, permitting, and inspections
- Provide ongoing service support throughout the system's lifespan
- Perform site surveys, safety and quality audits, and inspections
- Conduct field installations of PV, storage, and structural upgrades
- Assist with damage investigations and claims
- Maintain service level agreements for site visits
- Perform operations and maintenance support and monitoring
Requirements
- Electrical License only required in MA, a plus elsewhere
- At least 3 years of installing, repairing, and troubleshooting residential solar storage systems
- General knowledge of residential home maintenance and repair, with the ability to go the extra mile in remediating customer issues beyond the scope of solar system maintenance
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops, and work on your feet for long periods of time
- Ability to work in extreme environments such as hot sun, cold, rain, crawl spaces, etc.
- 1 year of experience working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairs, and performing repetitive duties such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout the assigned workday
- Ability to safely handle and maintain basic hand and power tools used for installation
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
- Must have a valid state driver’s license
- Must have a clean driving record
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
