Job Description
This role involves managing revenue recognition processes, technical accounting, and financial reporting to support the company's growth in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on ensuring compliance with GAAP and facilitating accurate month-end and year-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end revenue accounting processes, including model validation, close, reporting, and audit support.
- Ensure proper accounting for revenue arrangements and perform detailed analysis of complex financial models.
- Drive month-end close processes, including preparation of reconciliations, revenue and fund accruals, and estimates.
- Own and enhance controls over revenue recognition to ensure audit readiness and address control gaps.
- Document technical accounting matters and analyze new business initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes using industry-specific software and tools.
- Collaborate on initiatives to improve financial reporting efficiency and accuracy, including implementing new standards and systems.
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance.
- Support external audits through documentation and testing of controls.
- Collaborate on or lead special projects related to revenue recognition and financial reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent required
- At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to financial modeling
- Strong accounting background with a keen eye for detail and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work comfortably with senior management
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and other relevant tools
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles
- High degree of attention to detail and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with systems similar to NetSuite, Adaptive, Google Suite of products, and other relevant software
- Employment contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
