Job Description

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for reviewing project documentation, verifying solar system installations, and ensuring quality standards are met to support the durability and performance of renewable energy assets. The role involves coordinating with partners, resolving issues, and maintaining high-quality project execution within the solar and HVAC industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and close-out milestone packages, project documents, photos, and design details to ensure quality standards.
  • Verify that the estimated production of sold systems matches the installed design for third-party ownership products.
  • Assess solar monitoring platforms for accurate system mapping and functionality of critical components.
  • Approve or reject project milestone packages and communicate decisions to external partners promptly.
  • Support the gathering of data to drive partner accountability and promote a culture of quality.
  • Review installation photos, job close-out documentation, and design materials for accuracy and completeness.
  • Resolve issues related to closeout package kickbacks for quick re-submittal.
  • Stay current on installation methods, product trainings, and new product integrations.
  • Assist in installation best practices, customer site profiling, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Handle incoming inquiries via chat or ticket systems to facilitate quick resolution of issues.
  • Identify trends or patterns with partners and provide recommendations for process improvements.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in a technical or construction based solar role
  • Experience with interdepartmental problem solving or project management
  • Experience in photovoltaic design preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with and influence third parties
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience with standard business tools such as G-Suite, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check
