Job Description
The Associate, Development supports the development of solar and battery energy storage projects by coordinating project activities, conducting site analysis, managing stakeholder communication, and ensuring project viability within a dynamic renewable energy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze project schedules, scopes of work, and budgets; provide recommendations to ensure project viability
- Coordinate and facilitate project meetings; record decisions and next steps
- Research and obtain critical project or market information such as permits, land records, and industry studies
- Track and report on project progress; identify and address potential issues
- Coordinate quality controls to ensure deliverables meet standards
- Act as a primary point of contact for project information and documentation
- Support preparation and review of interconnection documents and utility coordination
- Conduct site analysis, due diligence, and outreach to landowners and authorities
- Assist with permit applications, community engagement, and public hearings
- Support project financing documentation and communication with finance and legal teams
- Manage relationships with external consultants to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
Requirements
- One year of experience working in a professional environment, including internships and part-time work.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as energy, real estate, sustainability, policy, communications, or equivalent experience.
- High degree of organization and time-management skills.
- Experience in PC computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and Windows.
- Demonstrated interest in renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of organizational capacity to manage multiple projects.
- Experience in providing efficient, timely, and reliable support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and self-starter, with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.
- High levels of integrity and personal accountability.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to manage competing priorities often across functional and operational lines.
- Must have a roll-up-your-sleeves and let’s-get-the-job-done-right attitude.
- Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.
- A willingness to contribute to a culture that builds trust and holds one another accountable.
- Ability to travel and access sites of varying terrain, with frequent travel up to 1-2 weeks per month or about 20% of working time.
- Must carry an active driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
