Job Description
The Senior Development Manager at Octopus Energy Generation is responsible for managing and delivering renewable energy development projects across Europe, from early land acquisition to construction, ensuring project viability, risk mitigation, and value maximization through effective stakeholder communication and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the development pipeline from early stage land to ready-to-build projects across Europe.
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure projects are commercially viable.
- Maximize value of projects throughout their development journey and lead on exits.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to support decision-making and value creation.
- Support the delivery of projects to the start of construction.
Requirements
- The candidate must have experience in delivering the development pipeline of renewable energy projects from early stage land acquisition to ready-to-build stage, ensuring projects are delivered to the start of construction.
- The candidate must have experience in risk identification and mitigation to ensure the commercial viability of renewable energy projects.
- The candidate must have experience in value maximization of renewable energy projects through their development journey, including leading on exits.
- The candidate must be very commercially minded and understand renewables development.
- The candidate must have strong data analysis skills.
- The candidate must be able to communicate clearly with the team and senior stakeholders, including board directors and fund managers.
- The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable energy project development, portfolio management, or a related field.
- The candidate must be able to support decision making and value creation for portfolio companies.
- The candidate must be willing to work an average of 3 days per week in the office in London.
