Job Description
A Senior Backend Developer at Octopus Energy will work on building and maintaining innovative energy technology solutions to support renewable energy initiatives and improve the transparency, fairness, and sustainability of energy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend systems to support energy services
- Implement scalable and efficient server-side solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate backend functionalities
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role with a strong focus on backend development.
- Solid understanding of backend programming languages and frameworks relevant to the company's technology stack.
- Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable backend systems.
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Experience working with APIs, data integration, and third-party services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and the energy sector is preferred but not explicitly mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.
