Job Description
A Senior AI Engineer responsible for building and scaling systems that enable the use of Generative AI models, such as LLMs, RAG, and agents, to develop innovative AI solutions that support Octopus Energy's mission towards a low-carbon future.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale systems that enable teams to use Generative AI models, including LLMs, RAG, and agents
- Develop scalable infrastructure such as platforms or shared services for AI deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop flagship AI projects
- Establish and improve best practices for working with AI within the company
- Take ownership of AI solutions that contribute to the company's mission of achieving a low-carbon future
Requirements
- Experience in building and scaling systems that enable teams to use Generative AI models such as LLMs, RAG, and agents, including developing platforms, shared services, or other scalable infrastructure.
- Ability to work with a cross-functional team to build out flagship AI projects.
- Proficiency in developing solutions that contribute to moving the company closer to Net Zero.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity, figuring out approaches, and validating solutions quickly.
- Ownership of building and scaling AI systems and infrastructure.
- Experience working with modern tools and infrastructure related to AI development.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle wide open problems.
- Ability to develop best practices for working with AI within an organization.
- Reporting to the Head of AI, ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team.
- Experience in deploying AI solutions in customer-facing environments (preferred but not explicitly stated as mandatory).
