Job Description
The Finance Manager will be responsible for providing accurate and insightful gross margin financial reporting, analysis, and support to improve margins within Octopus Energy's UK supply business, while collaborating with global teams and supporting industry change preparations in a hybrid role based in London.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely, accurate, and insightful Gross Margin financial reporting at Month End and Year End
- Analyze datasets to support margin improvement initiatives, such as pricing of Time Of Use tariffs
- Support global teams by sharing best practices and preparing for industry changes like Market-Wide Half-Hourly Settlement
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial management, accounting, or a related finance role with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong ability to provide timely, accurate, and insightful Gross Margin financial reporting at Month End and Year End.
- Experience in providing analysis and insights to support teams in improving margin, including pricing strategies such as Time Of Use tariffs.
- Excellent data parsing and analysis skills using rich datasets relevant to financial reporting and margin analysis.
- Ability to support and collaborate with global teams across different regions, including New Zealand and the US, by sharing best practices.
- Understanding of industry changes such as Market-Wide Half-Hourly Settlement and the ability to support preparations for such industry shifts.
- Willingness and ability to work in a hybrid role based out of London, spending at least 3 days a week in the office to build relationships and collaborate with colleagues.
- Relevant educational background in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (implied but not explicitly specified).
