Job Description
A Data Analyst role focused on evaluating performance and developing trading strategies within Octopus Energy's Flexibility team, supporting the creation of innovative energy products and solutions to promote renewable energy use and decarbonization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead investigations to evaluate company performance
- Determine optimal trading strategies across market opportunities
Requirements
- Proven experience in data analysis, including leading investigations to evaluate performance and determine the best trading strategies across a wide range of market opportunities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
- Experience with market analysis related to energy trading or similar sectors.
- Ability to work with large datasets and utilize data analysis tools and techniques effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate evaluation of performance and trading strategies.
- Educational background in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize trading performance.
- Experience in using data analysis software and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar tools.
- Strong communication skills to clearly present findings and insights to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and lead investigations with minimal supervision.
- Physical and mental capacity to analyze large volumes of data and perform complex calculations as required.
