Job Description
Nuro is seeking experienced software engineers to develop and optimize onboard systems, performance, and device platform software for autonomous vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and high performance across various hardware and sensor platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain onboard systems software to ensure reliable and high-performance integration of autonomy algorithms.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and safety teams to ensure software and hardware compatibility and resolve onboard error and performance issues.
- Optimize the performance of autonomous vehicle software, including latency reduction and resource efficiency.
- Design and implement device drivers, inter-device protocols, and runtime APIs for sensor and compute hardware platforms.
- Work with stakeholders and suppliers to define, evaluate, and integrate next-generation hardware platforms.
- Build tools for continuous testing, validation, and performance analysis of onboard systems.
Requirements
- 5 years of relevant industry experience in addition to a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field
- Must have strong C skills
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: large-scale distributed systems, computer architecture and operating systems, advanced algorithms using C and Python, highly-concurrent, multi-processor, and multi-threaded environments, software performance tuning and optimization, profiling and tracing tools and infrastructure such as perf, eBPF, Perfetto, pprof, NVIDIA Nsight Systems, Compute robotics software frameworks, robotics hardware components including sensors, embedded platforms, etc., and different compute modalities such as x86, ARM, GPU, FPGA
- Strong problem-solving and programming skills
