Job Description
A Systems Safety TPM at Nuro is responsible for managing and executing safety programs across hardware, software, and controls domains to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with industry standards, supporting the development of autonomous driving technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end safety program execution across hardware, embedded software, and controls domains.
- Develop and maintain safety program schedules, risk registers, and dependency maps to ensure timely safety milestone delivery.
- Track and close safety-related action items, open points, and audit findings across the vehicle platform.
- Develop, review, and maintain Functional Safety Requirements (FSRs) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs) in line with ISO 26262.
- Support hazard analysis, risk assessment, FMEA, FTA, and safety goal derivation processes with safety engineers.
- Define safety-relevant test strategies and track safety requirement coverage through integration and validation testing.
- Facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration to translate safety requirements into engineering deliverables and ensure stakeholder alignment.
Requirements
- 4 to 6 years of experience in systems engineering, safety engineering, or technical program management in automotive, autonomous vehicles, robotics, or adjacent domains.
- Hands-on familiarity with ISO 26262 processes and work products, including Functional Safety Requirements (FSR), Technical Safety Requirements (TSR), Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), safety plans, etc.
- Experience working across at least two of Controls, Hardware, or Embedded Software disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-team programs with competing priorities and tight timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills able to synthesize technical complexity for mixed audiences.

Compensation/salary range between $132,300 and $198,450, plus annual performance bonus and equity
