Job Description
The role involves leading the validation and testing of autonomous vehicle systems through scenario-based testing, simulation campaigns, and fault injection strategies to ensure safety and reliability in complex driving environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and ensure meaningful validation coverage for autonomous vehicle scenarios, including safety-critical, edge-case, and adversarial situations.
- Translate system-level requirements and failure modes into concrete, testable scenario definitions for validation.
- Design and oversee large-scale simulation campaigns, including scenario selection, variation strategies, and results analysis to inform engineering decisions.
- Develop and implement fault injection and degraded-mode validation strategies, identifying relevant failure conditions and ensuring autonomous behaviors meet safety goals.
- Maintain traceability between system requirements, test scenarios, and validation evidence to ensure comprehensive and audit-ready coverage.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand both autonomy systems and validation methodologies, identifying coverage gaps and technical issues.
- Communicate complex validation logic and coverage gaps clearly to technical and senior stakeholders.
Requirements
- 4 to 6 years in systems engineering, autonomy validation, or a technically-focused TPM role in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or aerospace.
- Deep familiarity with scenario-based testing, coverage-driven validation, or autonomy stack evaluation.
- Strong systems engineering fundamentals including requirements traceability, V V methodology, interface management, and failure mode analysis.
- Ability to engage technically with autonomy, simulation, and hardware engineers, not just coordinate between them.
- Comfortable owning ambiguous technical problems and driving them to structured, defensible conclusions.
