Job Description
The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining the telemetry system for Nuro's autonomous vehicle fleet, ensuring reliable network connectivity, data collection, and system performance to support scalable self-driving technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software for the telemetry system
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Write well-designed, testable code adhering to quality standards
- Track and improve system performance through KPIs and optimizations
- Develop validation programs to ensure system robustness
- Improve system documentation
- Participate in on-call support rotation
Requirements
- Three (3) years of industry experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in C, Go, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Knowledge of Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs) and their optimization, Pub-sub architectures, familiarity with databases, and REST APIs.
- Ability to turn high-level requirements into a detailed, cohesive system design.
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for large-scale distributed systems.
- Familiarity with load balancing and service proxy tools such as Envoy and HAProxy.
- Experience with API management platforms like APIGee.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
