Job Description
The role involves designing and developing sensor and compute systems for autonomous vehicles, focusing on hardware-agnostic platform development, embedded systems, and driver software to enhance the reliability and performance of self-driving robots.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop sensor and compute systems for robotics
- Architect and deploy autonomous software for sensors with high reliability and performance
- Monitor metrics, conduct automated testing, and collaborate with vendors to ensure reliable software
- Debug complex systems, identify root causes of failures, and implement solutions
- Drive cross-functional projects related to sensors and compute for autonomous vehicles
Requirements
- Experience in robotics or autonomous driving systems
- Proven ability to deep dive into embedded and real-time systems
- Proficiency in C, with emphasis on concurrency
- Familiarity with the role of the Linux kernel in driver performance
- At least 2 years of industry experience
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders
- Design and develop sensor and compute systems for robotics
- Architect and/or deploy Nuro sensors autonomous software with high reliability and performance
- Deliver reliable software through metrics monitoring, automated testing, and vendor collaboration
- Debug complex systems, root-cause failure modes, and deploy effective solutions
- Drive cross-functional projects on sensors and compute for autonomous vehicles
