Job Description
An autonomy engineer at Nuro works on developing and deploying advanced robotics algorithms in perception, prediction, planning, and system architecture to solve real-world self-driving technology challenges, contributing to making autonomous vehicles safer and more scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- Solve real-world autonomy problems in perception, behavior, and robotics.
- Design and develop algorithms for perception, prediction, planning, and system architecture.
- Implement and test robust, well-optimized C software for autonomous systems.
Requirements
- A recent graduate or graduating soon with a BS, MS, or PhD focusing on one or more of the areas listed above (machine learning, computer vision, robotics, system architecture, state estimation, multi-object target tracking, 3D reconstruction).
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience as an algorithm designer.
- Skilled software developer with experience in C and Python.
- Experience working with machine learning or autonomous systems.
- Ability to search for and solve hard problems with a real passion for robotics and autonomy.
- Willingness to work on challenging problems related to perception tasks like detection, segmentation, tracking, classification, and prediction across camera, lidar, radar, and thermal data.
- Ability to design novel algorithms and produce robust, well-tested C software.
