Job Description
A software engineering intern at Nuro will collaborate with experts in machine learning, robotics, and software to develop and improve autonomous driving technology across various platforms, focusing on areas such as data management, onboard systems, ML infrastructure, simulation, and technical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data management systems for AI driver data, labels, and metrics.
- Implement data annotation, ingestion, and mining processes across perception, mapping, and behavior domains.
- Collaborate on the integration and performance optimization of onboard systems for autonomous vehicles.
- Build and enhance machine learning infrastructure to support training and inference workflows.
- Design and develop simulation frameworks and scenarios for testing autonomous driving technology.
- Manage and maintain core engineering services, including compute platforms, storage, cloud infrastructure, and development tools.
Requirements
- You are a current BS or MS candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field graduating in December 2026 or later.
- You have experience in one or more of the following areas: backend API design, applications development, large-scale distributed systems, data storage and processing systems, advanced algorithms using C and Python, machine learning, multithreading, x86 architecture and software performance tuning and optimization, robotics software frameworks, and different compute modalities such as CPU, GPU, FPGA.
- You have strong problem solving and programming skills.
