Job Description
The Technical Program Manager at Nuro is responsible for leading the development and integration of systems verification and validation tools to ensure the safety and reliability of autonomous driving systems, coordinating cross-functional teams to support driverless deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical program execution for systems verification and validation tooling to ensure driverless readiness.
- Coordinate integration of tooling with simulation and autonomy stacks across engineering teams.
- Translate verification needs into concrete tooling requirements for perception, planning, control, and safety validation.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, track progress, risks, and metrics using internal tools.
- Collaborate with engineers to evolve infrastructure supporting model validation, synthetic data, and automation.
- Conduct validation tool readiness reviews to meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Provide updates, decision documentation, and risk assessments to stakeholders.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement improvements to accelerate validation cycles.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in technical program management, systems engineering, or software development in robotics, automotive, or related technology domains.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional programs involving multiple engineering disciplines such as software, hardware, autonomy, or systems.
- Strong understanding of system verification and validation, testing frameworks, or simulation infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex dependencies, drive alignment, and communicate effectively across technical and leadership audiences.
- Proficiency with agile program tools e.g., Jira, Asana and technical documentation platforms e.g., Confluence.
- Experience with building and maintaining detailed execution plans, tracking progress, risks, and metrics using internal tools such as Asana, Confluence, or custom dashboards.
- Ability to translate high-level systems verification needs into concrete tooling requirements across perception, planning, control, and safety validation workflows.
- Experience partnering with systems and simulation engineers to evolve infrastructure supporting model validation, synthetic data, test orchestration, and automation at scale.
- Experience driving validation tool readiness reviews and ensuring the VV tooling stack meets regulatory and internal safety certification standards for driverless operations.
- Ability to provide regular program updates, decision documents, and risk assessments to technical and leadership stakeholders.
- Experience identifying bottlenecks in tooling workflows and implementing improvements to accelerate system validation cycles.
- Technical depth in Python, C++, or data tooling pipelines sufficient to engage engineers on design trade-offs.
