Job Description
A Product Manager at Nuro is responsible for developing and scaling tools and solutions to optimize the operations of autonomous vehicles, working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance safety, efficiency, and operator workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Empathize with operators and understand their workflows
- Inform the operations roadmap by identifying necessary products and solutions
- Lead the design and development of tools to scale operations and improve efficiency
- Define, communicate, and align product goals, requirements, and constraints
- Identify root causes of problems and incorporate feedback to improve solutions
- Measure success and develop tactics to accelerate product development and impact
Requirements
- Experience building tools with engineers and the ability to be the technical representative in conversations without engineers.
- Proven ability to create structure and extract principles for complex or messy systems, surfacing crucial unanswered questions and driving to answers.
- Ability to extract important insights from available data, even if sparse or imperfect, and identify valuable data that is missing and how to collect it.
- Deep empathy for customers, fully internalizing their needs, and having a strong intuition about the best ways to meet them.
- Experience in developing and driving high-impact initiatives that influence operational efficiency and the number of operators needed to operate each vehicle.
- Ability to define, communicate, and set product goals, requirements, and constraints, and to surface and understand root causes of problems.
- Experience in building tools and solutions that scale operations and improve safety and efficiency of autonomous vehicle deployment.
- Proactive self-direction and accountability for projects, with the ability to prioritize and determine the most important tasks without needing detailed instructions.
- Skilled in collecting input and presenting insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, demonstrating influential communication skills.
- Knowledge of the value and priority levels for various products and features, understanding their impact on customers and the business overall.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Design, Engineering, Strategy, Business Development, and Legal to drive initiatives.
- Ability to understand and inform the operations roadmap based on a comprehensive understanding of safe and efficient commercial service requirements.
