Job Description
A Product Manager at Nuro is responsible for developing and scaling innovative tools to optimize the operations of autonomous vehicles, working closely with cross-functional teams to understand user workflows, define product requirements, and drive high-impact initiatives that improve safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Deeply understand operators' workflows and needs.
- Inform and prioritize the operations roadmap to ensure safe and efficient vehicle deployment.
- Lead the design and development of tools and solutions to enhance operational scalability.
- Define, communicate, and manage product goals, requirements, and constraints.
- Identify root causes of operational problems and incorporate feedback into product solutions.
- Measure success and develop strategies to accelerate product development and deployment.
Requirements
- Experience building tools with engineers and the ability to be the technical representative in conversations without engineers.
- Proactive self-direction to identify the most important tasks to work on, take accountability for projects, and execute independently.
- Ability to create structure and extract principles for complex or messy systems, and to surface the most crucial unanswered questions and drive to answers.
- Experience developing deep empathy for customers, fully internalizing their needs, and having strong intuition about the best ways to meet them.
- Ability to extract important insights from available data, even if sparse or imperfect, and to identify valuable data that is missing and how to collect it.
- Strong understanding of product prioritization, knowing the value and priority level for every product and feature proposed, both for the customer and the business overall.
- Excellent communication skills to collect input from and present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Design, Engineering, Strategy, Business Development, and Legal to drive high-impact initiatives.
- Deep understanding of what it takes to operate a safe and efficient commercial service, with the ability to inform operations roadmap and define products needed to support scaling.
- Ability to surface problems, understand root causes, and synthesize feedback from internal experts and experiments to incorporate into solutions.
- Experience defining success metrics, measuring progress, and developing creative tactics to accelerate project pace.
