Job Description
A Senior Accountant role responsible for managing the monthly financial close, analyzing financial statements, supporting external audits, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and accounting standards within a self-driving technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
- Develop and maintain revenue recognition and cost of revenue tracking processes within Oracle ERP
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, and supporting documentation
- Analyze fluctuations in balance sheets and income statements
- Support external audit processes and serve as a point of contact for auditors
- Research and resolve complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition and lease accounting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting and financial processes
- Participate in automation and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA, CA, or equivalent certification preferred
- At least 4 years of related work experience in public accounting and industry
- Experience with Oracle ERP system
- Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and ASC 842 Lease Accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP and operational accounting
- Ability to assist in managing the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
- Ability to analyze monthly and quarterly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations
- Ability to prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, and related tie-outs, including coordinating supporting documentation
- Ability to support external audits, including preparation of audit requests and serving as a point of contact for auditors
- Collaborative working style and ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as FP&A, Legal, Engineering
- Ability to work independently and balance multiple responsibilities
- Strong organization, verbal, and written communication skills
- Researching complex accounting issues and combining GAAP knowledge, operational experience, and critical thinking to resolve non-routine transactions

Compensation/salary range between $99,220 and $149,330, plus annual performance bonus and equity
