Job Description
The Commercial Counsel at Nuro will handle and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements related to supply chain, partnerships, intellectual property, and other business transactions, providing legal guidance to support the company's growth and operations in the autonomous vehicle industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Structure, draft, negotiate, and advise on commercial agreements related to vehicle systems, intellectual property, partnerships, licenses, services, and goods.
- Manage the entire contracting process from inception to post-closure, including leading negotiations and finalizing agreements.
- Explain legal terms clearly, identify risks, and develop strategies to achieve favorable, risk-mitigated outcomes aligned with company goals.
- Train and advise internal teams on legal requirements and best practices for commercial agreements.
- Streamline and improve the contracting process through negotiation playbooks and automation of contract workflows.
- Provide legal support across various practice areas such as IP, privacy, marketing, real estate, and product transactions as needed.
Requirements
- You have 8 years of experience as a lawyer in a fast-growing, technology-focused organization either in-house, working for similar clients at a top-tier law firm, or both.
- You have deep commercial contracting expertise and are familiar with intellectual property terms.
- You are admitted to at least one state bar and ideally a member of the California Bar. Admission in other jurisdictions is also a plus.
