Job Description
A Data Scientist at Nuro will analyze autonomous vehicle data, develop machine learning models, and create dashboards to optimize vehicle performance and support data-driven decision-making for self-driving technology deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define metrics and gather information.
- Perform deep-dive analyses to inform fleet management and deployment strategies.
- Design, develop, and own machine learning and statistical models for autonomous vehicle systems.
- Manage all stages of the model lifecycle, including problem definition, data assessment, development, and deployment.
- Create and maintain visualization dashboards to monitor operational performance and provide actionable insights.
- Promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Requirements
- MS degree required or PhD degree preferable in a Sciences major such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research or equivalent areas.
- Hands-on experience with standard statistical methods such as linear and logistic regression, SVM, confidence intervals, and significance testing, along with expertise in causal inference analysis.
- Expertise in writing custom SQL and experience with database design.
- Knowledge of a scripting language R or Python to manipulate and analyze data and develop statistical models.
- Sound statistical inference skills, with the ability to communicate uncertainty appropriately to engineering and business stakeholders.
- Experience designing metrics and building mechanisms to fuel business insights.
- Experience on data visualization tools such as Looker.
- Ability to play as an end-to-end data scientist to manipulate data for reporting or modeling, build robust statistical analysis reports or dashboards, build models, and deliver results to stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills.
