Job Description
The Senior Category Manager at NineDot Energy is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for energy storage equipment, engineering services, and related contracts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize supplier performance, manage sourcing activities, and support the company's clean energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement activities for batteries, engineering services, and related equipment for projects.
- Manage sourcing strategies, supplier selection, RFP development, bid evaluation, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement with project timelines, technical requirements, and standards.
- Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement processes.
- Monitor and analyze spend data to identify trends, savings, and performance gaps.
- Drive supplier performance management through KPIs, relationship management, and performance reviews.
- Support supplier diversity initiatives by engaging with MWBEs and tracking diversity metrics.
- Mentor and provide guidance to the Category Specialist team members.
Requirements
- Equipment, engineering services, or other significant contract negotiation experience, including drafting new agreements, redlining, and vendor engagement.
- Experience managing RFPs and supplier evaluations.
- Solid understanding of procurement principles, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization techniques.
- Strong project management skills.
- Lean Six Sigma experience or certification.
- Effective collaboration, teambuilding, and mentoring skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with procurement tools and ERP systems.
- No less than five (5) years of experience working in a supply chain role.
- Experience working with equipment, engineering services, or other procurement categories related to energy or renewables is preferred.
- Experience with SAP procurement modules is preferred.
