Job Description
A Senior Accountant responsible for managing month-end close processes, preparing financial statements under US GAAP, and supporting asset management functions within a renewable energy company, with opportunities for growth and collaboration in a mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the project accounting month-end close processes, including journal entries, schedule reconciliations, and trial balance reviews
- Prepare quarterly reporting packages such as financial statements, DSCR, distributions, and operating reports
- Collaborate with treasury team to review subcash and bank reconciliations weekly and monthly
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures in accordance with US GAAP
- Maintain schedules supporting financial statements and disclosures
- Work with business units to gather operational information and ensure accurate financial disclosures
- Support the implementation of new accounting standards and ERP system processes
- Provide documentation and support during external audits
Requirements
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 2 years of related Public Accounting experience preferred, or a 3-year mix of industry experience.
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to independently perform research to propose a solution for accounting issues.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with accounting systems, with experience with NetSuite strongly preferred.
- Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a close-knit team.
- Solid relationship building skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
- Strong organizational abilities, attention to details, and accuracy.
- Ability to proactively propose and effectively communicate improvement solutions.
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn and grow.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
- Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty.
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and apply that knowledge to inform business decisions.
