Job Description
The role involves leading and managing a regional team of engineers to facilitate the integration of renewable energy projects into the electrical grid, ensuring project execution, stakeholder collaboration, and adherence to industry standards in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the regional grid integration team, overseeing workloads and setting priorities.
- Drive the successful execution and timely completion of renewable energy interconnection projects.
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and resolve challenges.
- Oversee the interconnection application process, including due diligence and utility impact studies.
- Develop and implement design standards, internal processes, and workflows for grid integration.
- Build and maintain relationships with utilities, vendors, external consultants, and internal partners.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Advise senior leadership on interconnection strategies and issues affecting project portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, project management, or leadership roles within the renewables sector or at an electric utility.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role position.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Distributed Energy Resources (DER) interconnection.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical teams and drive project execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with grid interconnection processes, renewable energy technologies, and regulatory environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of industry standard design codes such as the National Electric Code, the International Building Code, and the International Fire Code.
- Working knowledge or moderate proficiency in AutoCAD software.
- Moderate proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Moderate proficiency with MS collaboration tools such as Salesforce, Teams, Power BI, SharePoint, etc.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
- Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
