Job Description
The Accounting Manager will oversee month-end financial closing processes, manage a team of accountants, ensure accurate financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS, and collaborate with various departments to support the company's asset management and growth in the clean energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for corporate and project entities, including approving journal entries, maintaining reconciliations, and preparing financial statements.
- Manage and oversee a team of staff and senior accountants, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation.
- Assist in creating and maintaining annual budgets and monitor budget-to-actuals for all projects.
- Lead ERP system improvement projects by collaborating with third-party consultants and internal departments to enhance process efficiency.
- Design and implement accounting processes for new business operations in accordance with relevant accounting principles.
- Supervise invoice creation, deposits, collections, and KPI reporting in collaboration with the Asset Management department.
- Coordinate with auditors during project and consolidated audits by preparing documentation, explanations, and supporting financials and footnotes.
Requirements
- 3-4 years of Public Accounting or 5-6 years of private accounting experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the ability to do research to find solutions for accounting issues.
- Experience with accounting systems, with NetSuite strongly preferred.
- Strict attention to detail, ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Ability to think critically, be proactive, and problem solve.
- Strong Microsoft Office and overall computer skills.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
- Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Experience in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
