Job Description

The IT Systems Automation Engineer at Nexamp is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable IT systems and automation solutions to improve endpoint management, workflows, and operational efficiency, supporting the company's mission of advancing clean energy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement endpoint management, provisioning, and lifecycle workflows across various devices.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions supporting onboarding, offboarding, RBAC, asset management, and access changes.
  • Manage and optimize endpoint and workflow platforms such as ManageEngine, Intune, Power Automate, and Jira Assets.
  • Improve automation and system processes to reduce manual work, ticket volume, and enhance SLA performance.
  • Collaborate with Security to ensure device configurations and automations align with access control standards.
  • Document and operationalize technical solutions for supportability, auditability, and transferability.
  • Lead escalation and root cause analysis for complex endpoint and workflow incidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience with endpoint management platforms such as MDM UEM, automation tooling scripting, Azure runbooks, Power Automate, and identity-driven provisioning concepts including RBAC and group-based licensing.
  • Demonstrated experience owning platforms end-to-end, including design, deployment, iteration, and implementing cross-system solutions.
  • Experience with endpoint management and automation platforms such as ManageEngine, Intune, Power Automate, Jira Assets, Entra ID, JAMF, and Jira Service Management.
  • Scripting or low-code automation experience using PowerShell, APIs, or workflow tools.
  • Experience designing systems that support ITIL and Agile service models.
  • Ability to design, build, and operate scalable IT systems and automations that improve endpoint management, user lifecycle workflows, and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to own and evolve automation solutions supporting onboarding, offboarding, RBAC, asset management, and access changes.
  • Ability to serve as the primary technical owner for endpoint and workflow platforms, including leading design, configuration, and optimization.
  • Proactive delivery of automation and system improvements that eliminate manual work, reduce ticket volume, and improve SLA performance.
  • Ability to document and operationalize solutions to ensure they are supportable, auditable, and transferable.
  • Own escalation for complex endpoint and workflow incidents, including driving root cause analysis, coordinated response, and timely resolution.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in making improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
  • Strong accountability and ownership mentality.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Experience in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and apply that knowledge to inform business decisions.
