Job Description
The Construction Services Manager at Nexamp is responsible for leading and managing renewable energy construction projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency while overseeing subcontractors and project development from planning to completion, primarily within California.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce safety policies and procedures on construction sites
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Oversee the design, permitting, and construction of renewable energy assets
- Manage subcontractors, including bidding, scope adherence, and compliance with wage and apprenticeship requirements
- Conduct field walks, assist in value engineering, and support project design and permitting processes
- Coordinate project milestones, deliverables, and regulatory compliance (Federal IRA, Tax Equity, Project Financing)
- Develop risk assessments, safety plans, and implement best practices on job sites
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure successful completion
Requirements
- California General Contractor License Class A is required; candidates must possess this license to be considered for the role.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar discipline is preferred.
- At least 10 years of construction management experience is required; solar renewable energy experience is preferred.
- Ability to act as a subject matter expert on construction sites with strong leadership and project management skills focused on efficiency and safety.
- Advanced knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Experience overseeing the design, permitting, and building of renewable energy assets.
- Ability to ensure compliance at a regulatory and California licensing board level.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization.
- Experience showcasing initiative to improve current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
