The Civil Project Engineer I at New Leaf Energy is responsible for reviewing, designing, permitting, and managing civil engineering aspects of renewable energy projects such as solar, wind, and energy storage, working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure project development and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Review, design, and permit solar PV, wind, and energy storage projects.
Lead site review, zoning bylaws review, and outline project entitlement pathways.
Manage project schedules, tasks, quality control, and standards adherence.
Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, towns, and planning boards.
Assist in developing standard details, notes, specifications, and SOPs.
Review design drawings and prepare civil engineering components for project bids.
Respond to bidder permitting questions and participate in due diligence calls.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
On track to obtain Civil P.E. license.
4 to 8 years of experience in site development, entitlement, and environmental permitting at municipal, state, and federal levels.
Experience with solar PV or energy storage projects is desired.
Experience in cost estimation, reviewing engineering services contracts, managing subconsultants, and project schedule management.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and HYDROCAD or equivalent design tools.
Ability to communicate design concepts and lead meetings between clients, engineers, regulatory officials, and consultants.
Ability to manage multiple projects while being highly motivated, detailed, and organized.
