Job Description
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing and sustaining innovative solar tracker technology through product ideation, prototyping, testing, and training, contributing to the advancement of utility-scale PV deployment in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the next generation of solar tracker technology through product ideation, concept development, prototyping, and testing.
- Work on both developing new products and sustaining existing product lines.
- Collaborate with the Mechanical Engineering team to design and improve solar tracking systems.
Requirements
- Must have experience as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for developing the next generation of solar tracker technology.
- Must be responsible for product ideation, concept development, prototyping, testing, and training as part of the Mechanical Engineering team.
- Must work on developing new product lines and sustaining existing product lines.
- Must be located in the Bay Area and able to commute to the Oakland office or testing site as needed.
- Must be willing to work in a hybrid role with the opportunity to work from home when testing or meetings allow.
- Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time to attend site visits, tradeshows, and company off-sites.
- Must be willing to travel at least 10-20% of the time for company off-sites, conferences, trade shows, site visits, and other potential events as needed.
- Must have a full understanding of the responsibilities and activities related to product development, including ideation, concept development, prototyping, testing, and training.
- Must be able to manage time effectively and be self-motivated.
- Must be willing to participate in a comprehensive interview process including phone screen, discussions with hiring managers and team members, executive leadership conversations, and professional reference checks.
