Job Description
The VP of Business Development will lead the sales team and develop strategic partnerships to establish Orbitworks as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations in the Middle East, focusing initially on government and defense sectors and expanding into global commercial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Business Development Sales team, including two direct reports.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline focused on government and defense sectors locally and commercial sectors globally.
- Establish and leverage relationships with governments, MoDs, and defense contractors across the Middle East.
- Develop strategic plans to position Orbitworks as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations in the UAE and beyond.
- Drive deal closure and open new market opportunities through customer engagement and network utilization.
Requirements
- Extensive leadership experience in a senior business development or sales management role, with a proven track record of leading a team with at least 2 direct reports.
- Existing leadership experience in business development or sales, demonstrating the ability to lead, manage, and motivate a sales team.
- Experience in opening doors and closing deals with governments, Ministries of Defense (MoDs), and defense contractors across the Middle East region, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
- Ability to build and develop a strong sales pipeline targeting government and defense sectors locally and commercial sectors globally.
- Strong strategic vision, customer engagement skills, and market expertise relevant to satellite manufacturing, space industry, or related high-tech sectors.
- Existing network of contacts within government, defense, and space industry sectors in the Middle East region.
- Experience in positioning a company as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations, particularly in the UAE or similar markets.
- Ability to take a hands-on approach to leading business development activities and managing a sales team.
- Experience working in or with the satellite manufacturing, space, or aerospace industry is highly desirable.
