Job Description
The VP of Business Development will lead the sales team and develop strategic partnerships to establish Orbitworks as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations in the Middle East and globally, focusing initially on government and defense sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Business Development Sales team, including two direct reports.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline focused on government and defense sectors.
- Develop and execute strategies to open doors and close deals with governments, MoDs, and defense contractors in the Middle East.
- Position Orbitworks as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations in the UAE and globally.
- Leverage extensive network to facilitate business growth and market entry.
- Drive market engagement and customer relationships to support company growth objectives.
Requirements
- Extensive leadership experience in a senior business development or sales management role, with proven ability to lead a team with at least 2 direct reports.
- Existing leadership experience in business development or sales roles is essential.
- Proven track record of opening doors and closing deals with governments, Ministries of Defense (MoDs), and defense contractors across the Middle East region, including in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
- Strong network within the government, defense, and satellite manufacturing sectors in the Middle East region.
- Experience in developing and executing strategic vision, customer engagement, and market expertise to meet ambitious organizational goals.
- Ability to take a hands-on approach to leading a business development sales team.
- Experience in building a strong sales pipeline, particularly in government and defense sectors initially, with the capacity to develop into commercial sectors on a global scale.
- Familiarity with the satellite manufacturing industry and operations, including positioning a company as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations.
- Experience in manufacturing or operating satellite production facilities, ideally with knowledge of mass-manufacturing satellites or similar high-volume production environments.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, innovative environment, contributing to the company's mission to make space simple for organizations deploying physical and virtual missions to space.
