Job Description
A Space Infrastructure Software Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining software systems to operate and ensure the reliability of Loft's satellite fleet, including ground and onboard software, with opportunities to take on roles such as Flight Director in satellite operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Scale and operate a heterogeneous fleet of satellites across various mission types.
- Develop and maintain ground and flight software for satellite operations.
- Ensure the reliable, efficient, and standardized operation of space infrastructure.
- Maintain the stability of satellite bus, Hub, and payloads to support customer missions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot on-orbit satellite issues.
- Work with mission control systems to support satellite health and safety.
Requirements
- Experience in developing and maintaining ground and flight software for satellite operations.
- Ability to work at the intersection of automated satellite operations, ground software, and on-orbit problem solving.
- Understanding of the reliable, efficient, and standardized operation of space infrastructure.
- Experience with ensuring the stability of satellite bus, the Hub, and payloads as a platform to execute customer missions.
- Ability to work with code that interacts with and uses mission control systems such as Cockpit.
- Experience with coding that executes onboard satellites.
- Willingness and ability to become a Flight Director responsible for the health and safety of the satellite fleet.
