Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer specializing in space infrastructure, responsible for developing and maintaining satellite operations, ground and flight software, and ensuring the reliable and efficient functioning of a heterogeneous fleet of satellites. The role involves working on various systems, supporting mission control, and potentially serving as a Flight Director to oversee satellite health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Scale the operation of a heterogeneous fleet of satellites across various mission types.
- Develop and maintain ground and flight software for satellite operations.
- Ensure the reliable, efficient, and standardized operation of Loft's space infrastructure.
- Maintain the stability of satellite components, including the satellite bus, the Hub, and payloads.
- Solve on-orbit problems related to satellite operations.
- Work with systems such as mission control (Cockpit) and onboard satellite code.
- Potentially serve as a Flight Director responsible for the health and safety of the satellite fleet.
Requirements
- Experience in developing and maintaining ground and flight software for satellite operations.
- Ability to work at the intersection of automated satellite operations, ground and flight software, and solving on-orbit problems.
- Experience ensuring the reliable, efficient, and standardized operation of space infrastructure.
- Experience working with the stability of satellite bus, the Hub, and Loft-owned payloads as a platform to execute customer missions.
- Proficiency in coding that interacts with and uses mission control systems such as Cockpit.
- Ability to develop code that executes onboard satellites.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot on-orbit issues.
- Excellent communication skills in English to collaborate effectively within an international team.
- Strong understanding of satellite systems, including satellite bus, payloads, and mission control systems.
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment with a focus on reliability and safety of satellite operations.
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks related to space infrastructure and satellite operations.
