Job Description
The Senior Satellite Systems Engineer at Loft Orbital is responsible for leading the technical development and management of satellite missions, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful mission execution. The role involves overseeing multiple satellite projects, utilizing proven satellite buses and payload infrastructure to deliver space solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development activities for one or multiple satellite missions with multi-payload configurations.
- Serve as the technical reference for assigned satellite missions, collaborating with program managers and development teams.
- Work closely with flight and ground software, AIT, and operations teams to ensure mission success.
- Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for technical roles related to satellite systems, including sourcing, interviewing, and offering.
Requirements
- Experience as a lead engineer for one or several satellite missions simultaneously, each involving a single multi-payload configuration
- Ability to serve as the technical reference for satellite missions, working closely with program managers and all Loft teams including product development, flight and ground software, AIT, and operations
- Proven experience in developing activities related to satellite missions using flight proven satellite buses and payload hub infrastructure
- Deep familiarity with the space or satellite industry, particularly in systems engineering, test, hardware production, or program leadership functions
- Experience owning the full-cycle recruiting process for highly technical roles related to satellite systems, from sourcing to offer
- Ability to partner closely with hiring managers to identify and attract top talent in systems engineering, test, hardware production, and program leadership functions
