Job Description
The Senior Environmental Test Engineer is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of environmental verification and testing of satellites, including planning, infrastructure readiness, and hands-on execution of vibration, thermal, and EMC/EMI campaigns to ensure reliable and high-quality satellite launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of environmental verification and testing for satellites.
- Plan and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for testing processes.
- Prepare infrastructure and facilities for environmental testing activities.
- Oversee maintenance of testing equipment and infrastructure.
- Execute vibration, Thermal Vacuum (TVAC), thermal, and EMC EMI testing campaigns.
Requirements
- Experience in owning the full lifecycle of environmental verification and testing for satellite or aerospace systems, including early program feasibility, planning, SOP creation, infrastructure readiness, maintenance oversight, and hands-on execution of Vibration, Thermal Vacuum (TVAC), Thermal, and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) EMI campaigns.
- Proven ability to ensure satellites are tested reliably, on schedule, and to high standards required for launch.
- Highly experienced in environmental testing of satellite components or systems, with a comprehensive understanding of vibration, TVAC, thermal, and EMC EMI testing procedures.
- Demonstrated experience working in a satellite production or aerospace testing environment, preferably with experience in a manufacturing or production facility setting.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee infrastructure readiness for environmental testing activities.
- Experience in creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to environmental testing processes.
- Experience in maintenance oversight of environmental testing infrastructure and equipment.
- Physical ability to perform hands-on testing activities, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of environmental test campaigns.
