Job Description
The Onboard Software Engineer - Peripheral Services is responsible for developing and maintaining software that interacts with external physical units such as imagers, radios, and customer payloads, supporting the monitoring and control of satellite components and ensuring reusability across multiple space programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain onboard software for space systems.
- Design and implement services that interact with external physical units such as imagers, radios, and customer payloads.
- Ensure reusability of services across multiple satellite programs.
- Monitor and control space program elements, including computational environments and interfaces with spacecraft hardware.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software engineering related to onboard space systems, including monitoring and control of major space program elements such as Flight Products computational environments including physical and virtual processors.
- Experience interfacing with external equipment such as imagers, RF systems, ISL, and spacecraft bus interfaces.
- Experience developing or working with services and functions that interact with external physical units such as imagers, radios, and customer payloads, with an understanding that many of these services are reused across multiple satellite programs.
- Strong communication skills in English, capable of conveying complex ideas and important messages effectively.
- Ability to work in an international team environment, demonstrating collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to address significant challenges in onboard software development.
