Job Description

The Ground Software Solutions Engineer at Loft Orbital develops and maintains custom ground software for space missions, working on mission control, scheduling, and real-time problem solving, while contributing to the integration of software and space technology.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain custom ground software capabilities for clients.
Configure and extend Mission Control and Scheduling Software for specific mission needs.
Deliver custom features to support mission deployment and execution.
Ensure smooth operations by connecting product capabilities with mission-specific requirements.
Collaborate with product teams to drive product improvements based on operational feedback.
Work on real-time issues during live missions to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
Build and develop automated infrastructure to integrate software with space operations.

Requirements

Proficiency in Python programming language.
Experience with Django framework.
Knowledge of GraphQL.
Experience working with Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Cue language.
Experience with C programming language.
Ability to develop and maintain custom ground software capabilities for space missions.
Capability to configure and extend Cockpit Loft s Mission Control and Scheduling Software for specific program needs.
Experience delivering custom features to support mission deployment and execution.
Ability to help ensure smooth operations by connecting product capabilities with mission-specific needs.
Experience working on real-time issues on live missions and solving problems as they occur.
Willingness to undergo SatDevOps training to operate spacecraft.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (implied by the technical nature of the role).
