Job Description
A Senior Backend Software Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining energy management systems that optimize renewable energy generation, create intelligent grids, and enhance utility customer experiences to support a sustainable energy future.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend software for energy systems
- Optimize renewable energy generation and create intelligent grid solutions
- Enable utilities to improve customer experience through software development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system features
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of backend systems
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Backend Software Engineer with a strong background in developing and maintaining backend systems.
- Experience with designing, developing, and deploying scalable, reliable, and secure backend applications.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for backend development (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or similar).
- Experience working with cloud platforms and services relevant to backend infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is preferred.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Experience with RESTful API development and integration.
- Familiarity with database systems, including relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- Understanding of security best practices for backend systems, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to work in or relocate to the New York City area or be remote within the East Coast timezone region.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
