Job Description
A Senior Production Biologist responsible for ensuring high-quality care and welfare of yellowtail kingfish in a recirculating aquaculture system, focusing on system optimization, maintenance, quality control, and supporting sustainable fish production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care for yellowtail kingfish within the RAS facility
- Optimize and maintain production and life support systems
- Manage feeding according to rearing strategy
- Assist with fish transfers and grading
- Ensure and improve biosecurity measures
- Conduct quality control and assurance related to fish welfare
- Participate in shift work including day, night, and weekend shifts
Requirements
- Provide high quality care of yellowtail kingfish within an RAS facility in Kats, Zeeland, ensuring optimal circumstances for fish welfare.
- Involved in system optimization and maintenance of recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and life support systems.
- Manage feeding of the fish according to the rearing strategy.
- Assist with fish transfers and grading procedures.
- Ensure and optimize biosecurity measures within the facility.
- Work as part of a shift system, including day shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts, with a regular workday start at 7.00 AM.
- Possess the legal right to work in the Netherlands or EU countries (applications open only to residents of these regions).
