Job Description
The Material Co-ordinator is responsible for managing inventory, facilitating the movement of goods, conducting quality checks, and supporting manufacturing operations in a fast-paced energy storage manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the distribution of goods in and out of the warehouse
- Load and unload trucks, and move inventory using equipment such as pallet trucks, forklifts, and gantry cranes
- Check and receive goods into the system, ensuring accurate inventory records
- Maintain adequate stock levels to support manufacturing operations
- Conduct physical inventory checks, verify stock counts, and investigate discrepancies
- Perform general storekeeping duties following health and safety procedures
- Ensure QA checks are completed and documentation is accurate for incoming finished products
- Inspect mechanical assemblies visually and dimensionally according to specifications
- Manage MRB (Material Review Board) processes and raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) when necessary
- Schedule and record calibration of tools used in manufacturing
- Support stock rotation procedures such as FIFO or LIFO
- Perform general administrative tasks related to manufacturing and inventory management
Requirements
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
- Experience in Process Systems complying with standard operating procedures and contributing to the development and future improvements where appropriate.
- Must be organised, methodical and flexible in supporting various functional teams - engineering, purchasing, finance, installation.
- Good working knowledge of safe working practices within a Stores Operations site.
- Physically fit so that you can comfortably perform manual tasks safely.
- Good communication skills, a good work ethic and team working skills.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills and keen attention to detail.
- Good computer skills using Microsoft Office applications with the ability to pick things up quickly.
- Proven experience of working within a fast-paced operation.
- An aptitude for and interest in hands-on mechanical tasks.
- Possession of a forklift and electric pallet truck license (or willingness to undertake full training to obtain these licenses).
