The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for managing the day-to-day manufacturing, mechanical, and electrical assembly of energy storage systems, ensuring processes are efficient, documented, and meet quality standards, while coordinating between engineering, production, and procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day manufacturing and assembly of energy storage products across multiple projects
Convert engineering concepts and drawings into documented, workable manufacturing processes
Manage and control production documentation, including build instructions and engineering changes
Produce method statements and risk assessments in compliance with health and safety requirements
Review and improve manufacturing processes using LEAN methodologies
Define and track manufacturing activities, coordinating with design and procurement teams
Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel on mechanical and electrical design questions
Liaise between project management, manufacturing, and engineering teams
Identify tools and fixtures required for manufacturing and assembly to meet specifications
Ensure all design and specification documentation is peer-reviewed, shared, and stored properly
Requirements
Experience in managing the day-to-day manufacturing and mechanical and electrical assembly of energy storage systems across multiple concurrent projects.
Ability to implement controls necessary to ensure that engineering concepts and drawings are converted into documented, workable build processes for use by the manufacturing team.
Experience in managing and controlling all production documentation, including product build instructions and engineering design changes, within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in producing method statements and risk assessments in line with health and safety requirements.
Experience in reviewing and improving all production processes and refining them using LEAN methodologies.
Ability to define and track manufacturing activities in the factory, liaising constantly with product design and procurement teams.
Providing technical support by responding to mechanical and electrical design questions from manufacturing personnel and seeking answers from engineering and R&D teams.
Liaising between project management, manufacturing, and engineering key personnel.
Identifying the tools and fixtures required to manufacture and assemble Invinity products to the specifications and tolerances required.
Ensuring that documentation is a critical deliverable for all actions, with all designs and specifications peer-reviewed.
Overseeing the sharing and storing of documentation through the use of a PLM propel system.
Performing other duties and responsibilities as required.
