Job Description
The Hardware Engineering Manager at HRL Laboratories leads the Mixed-Signal Circuit Design Group, overseeing technical development and strategic planning for high-performance integrated circuits, while managing and mentoring a team of highly skilled engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Mixed-Signal Circuit Design Group, providing technical leadership and strategic planning.
- Contribute technically through direct project work and technical leadership in areas such as precision analog, data converters, digital RTL-to-GDS, frequency synthesizers, tunable filters, subthreshold logic, and subsystem microsystem architecture.
- Allocate team resources to projects and support recruitment efforts to acquire talent.
- Enhance team performance through informal and formal feedback and career development opportunities.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a role involving people management of highly trained technical staff.
- Demonstrated experience with successful resource allocation and management.
- Experience with line management functions, such as drafting job descriptions, hiring staff, and providing critical feedback to staff.
- 8 years of technical expertise in subsystem microsystem architecture.
- MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related scientific discipline.
- Be able to work onsite 5 days a week at the Westlake Village Thousand Oaks Site.
- US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance.
Benefits & Perks
Base salary range: 193,700 - 248,200 USD
