Job Description
Lead a multidisciplinary team in testing and characterizing infrared sensors and EOIR cameras for research and development, setting testing standards, driving innovation, and managing organizational growth in a high-tech aerospace or semiconductor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team in characterizing sensors and EOIR cameras for R&D prototypes and products.
- Define and establish standards for all test activities across the organization.
- Assess performance quality, screening, and product evaluation of components and cameras.
- Identify metrics to drive process improvement, innovation, and industry capability growth.
- Supervise and develop team members through career development and training.
- Plan and deploy continuous improvement initiatives, new capabilities, and technology integration.
Requirements
- Ten (10) years of experience in a technical leadership position managing multiple teams and projects, with responsibility for shaping strategic roadmaps for the business.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and interfacing with customers is essential.
- Demonstrated track record of success in the aerospace or semiconductor industry in test, characterization, systems engineering, or product quality control.
- Strong hands-on experience with one or more of the following areas: novel material development, semiconductor industry on the design or fabrication side, electro-optical hardware and software development, information sciences and machine vision technologies, or product quality and compliance verification.
- Familiarity with databases, data visualization, and laboratory control and scripting software such as Python or MATLAB.
- Proficiency in standard productivity tools including Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project, and Visio, as well as statistical and data analysis and visualization techniques.
- Understanding of the design and construction of IR camera sensor packages and their constituent sub-components, as well as their applications and use.
- Familiarity with imaging customer needs and the technical barriers to technology insertion and new product adoption.
- A demonstrated track record with team building and change management experience in a leadership role on a program or product.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, or Physical Sciences is required.
- Physical ability to lift and move large format drawers un-aided and handle cryogenic liquids, and work in a test lab cleanroom.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
