Job Description
The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at Gridmatic will lead financial analysis, forecasting, and resource planning to support strategic decision-making in a high-growth renewable energy startup, focusing on capital efficiency, financial operations, and data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership to develop financial forecasts and resource allocation plans.
- Manage and report on financial performance, including monitoring cash flow.
- Translate wholesale market participation dynamics into clear cash flow narratives for capital management.
- Oversee financial operations related to company performance and reporting.
- Assist in maintaining the company's stock compensation program and support headcount planning.
- Conduct financial planning analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Experience in financial planning and analysis functions, with the ability to serve a critical role in all financial, planning analyses functions and partner with senior leadership in strategic decision-making processes across various profit-making divisions of the company.
- Ability to forecast and plan resource allocation by working closely with senior leaders to align the company's goals.
- Experience in managing capital efficiency in active commodity and electricity markets, including translating wholesale market participation dynamics into clear cashflow narratives.
- Proficiency in overseeing financial operations of the company, including reporting on financial performance and monitoring cashflow.
- Experience in assisting with maintaining a company's stock compensation program as part of headcount planning and growth.
- Ability to handle ad-hoc projects on an ongoing basis related to financial analysis and planning.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to transform data into stories, frameworks, and strategic recommendations.
- Experience working in or understanding of energy markets, particularly wholesale electricity markets such as ERCOT and CAISO, is preferred.
- Excellent collaboration skills to act as a trusted partner to a small team.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with rigorous thinking, continuous learning, and strategic mindset.
