Job Description
The Supplier Quality Engineer at Gotion Inc. is responsible for managing and improving the quality of suppliers related to lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems, including supplier development, quality system assessments, incoming quality control, and issue resolution to ensure stable and high-quality supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage quality assurance for suppliers related to ESS and power automotive lithium-ion batteries.
- Conduct supplier quality system assessments such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
- Guide new suppliers to establish and meet quality standards, including PPAP approval.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to control supplier quality in new projects.
- Develop inspection standards for incoming materials and handle non-conforming materials.
- Respond promptly to supplier quality issues during production and customer feedback.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with suppliers and track issue resolution.
- Analyze supplier quality data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist suppliers in problem-solving using tools like 8D, 5Why, and PDCA.
- Conduct supplier audits and promote supplier development to enhance capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Material Sciences
- US Citizenship or a Greencard
- 3 years of experience in supplier quality management, with experience in the power battery or energy storage battery industry preferred
- Willingness to travel 25%
- Familiarity with the production process and quality control points of cells, modules, packs, BMS, and key raw materials
- Proficiency in ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management systems
- Familiarity with quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC
- Proficiency in problem analysis and solution methods such as 8D, 5Why, fishbone diagram, and DOE
- Ability to perform failure analysis and guide suppliers in failure analysis
Benefits & Perks
Salary range: $90,000 - $120,000 (base salary)
