Job Description
The Training Specialist will design, coordinate, and deliver technical and safety training programs for Gotion's new energy manufacturing facility, supporting workforce development, compliance, and cross-cultural onboarding to ensure operational readiness and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, coordinate, and deliver onboarding, on-the-job training, and continuous upskilling programs for manufacturing employees.
- Develop role-based learning paths with competency milestones and certification criteria.
- Create and maintain mandatory safety, quality, and environmental training modules in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) for content upload, tracking, and reporting of training completion.
- Coordinate technical and cultural onboarding for expatriate engineers and managers, including cross-cultural communication and safety norms.
- Evaluate and manage external training vendors, prepare training budgets, and negotiate contracts.
- Conduct training needs analysis and measure training effectiveness to improve curricula.
- Maintain training records in compliance with ISO standards, audits, and labor regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of training or Learning & Development experience in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for experience in the new energy, automotive, or battery industry.
- Proven track record of building shop-floor technical training for blue-collar and skilled-trade populations.
- Hands-on experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Workday Learning, Cornerstone, SAP SuccessFactors, or Docebo.
- Strong instructional design ability to convert SOPs and engineering specifications into digestible training content.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, comfortable training groups of 5 to 50 on the production floor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate is a plus.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to build Excel or Google Sheets training reports and analyze completion rates, test scores, and skills gaps.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred.
- Certifications such as ATD Master Trainer, CPTD, OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour certification, Train-the-Trainer credentials, or Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt are preferred.
- Experience in a startup or greenfield manufacturing facility (0-1 plant launch) is preferred.
- Familiarity with battery cell manufacturing processes including mixing, coating, calendaring, slitting, winding, assembly, formation, and module pack integration is preferred.
- Prior exposure to unionized workforce training protocols or joint labor-management apprenticeship programs is preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) registered apprenticeship frameworks is preferred.

Compensation/salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 USD
