Job Description

The Senior Pack Production Quality Manager at Gotion Inc. is responsible for leading plant-level quality operations in battery manufacturing, ensuring product quality meets industry standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and managing customer quality concerns to support the company's mission in electric vehicle and energy storage technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the plant-level pack quality engineering team, inspectors, and technicians.
  • Develop and implement quality strategies to reduce risk, improve stability, and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Oversee collection, analysis, and reporting of quality metrics such as defect rates and process capability indices.
  • Support and review internal control plans, PFMEA, and inspection standards to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen, DOE, SPC, and Lean methodologies across production processes.
  • Manage non-conforming product processes, including segregation, disposition, and rework operations.
  • Ensure proper implementation of control plans, inspection standards, and corrective actions on the production floor.
  • Perform layered audits and oversee inspector performance and effectiveness.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and internal quality standards.
  • Train and mentor staff on quality standards, processes, and tools.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and customer teams to resolve issues and ensure alignment.
  • Support external customer audits, manage customer complaints, and respond to escalations.
  • Document and track all quality activities, including reports, audits, RCA, and CAPA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 7 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for experience in the battery or automotive industry.
  • 2 to 3 years of leadership experience managing engineers, quality teams, or major quality programs.
  • Deep knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and core quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, 8D, 5Why, Fishbone, DOE, MSA.
  • Experience with Kaizen, CAPA methodologies, and statistical problem-solving.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems software.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, handle customer complaints under pressure, and drive decisive action.
