Job Description
The role involves designing, reviewing, and managing mechanical components of high-voltage lithium battery packs for automotive applications, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure quality and compliance in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define technical and regulatory requirements for high voltage battery pack mechanical components
- Design, review, and manage release of HV battery pack module mechanical components and CAD models
- Coordinate with external suppliers to ensure components meet requirements
- Lead weekly communication with suppliers and internal teams
- Work with systems engineers to define mechanical system DFMEA
- Collaborate with test and validation teams to validate mechanical design of the pack
- Perform mechanical analysis and support high volume manufacturing processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 1-3 years experience in Lithium ion battery design experience
- Design release experience in automotive industry
- Experience in working with supply chain and quality engineering for supplier selection
- Proven hands-on experience in mechanical analysis
- Experience working with external suppliers to ensure components meet all requirements
- Ability to define technical and regulatory requirements of High Voltage (HV) battery pack
- Experience in Mechanical component design and review of HV battery pack module design and component selection
- Experience managing the release of mechanical design, including working with CAD designers for the release of CAD models and drawings
- Ability to coordinate and lead weekly teleconferences with suppliers and internal teams
- Experience working with systems engineers to define mechanical system DFMEA
- Experience reviewing DVP&R and working with test and validation teams to validate the mechanical design of the pack
- Preferred: MS in Mechanical Engineering
- Preferred: Over 3 years of design release experience in mechanical engineering
- Preferred: Excellent understanding of DFMEA
- Preferred: Proficiency in CATIA V6

Compensation/salary range: $70,000 - $120,000 USD
