Job Description
The role involves leading the legal department of Gotion Inc., providing strategic legal counsel across various business areas, managing legal risks and compliance, and supporting the company's growth in the energy manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the company's legal department and oversee all legal matters.
- Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, intellectual property, contracts, compliance, and risk management.
- Manage and mentor the in-house legal team to foster a strong legal culture and professional development.
- Build and maintain relationships with external counsel and leverage their expertise as needed.
- Stay informed on legal developments affecting the energy manufacturing industry and advise on navigating them.
- Develop and implement legal compliance programs to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to laws and regulations.
- Participate in strategic business discussions and contribute to corporate strategy development.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a well-known law school.
- At least 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role within the legal department.
- At least 5 years of experience working within the Energy Manufacturing industry.
- At least 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: investment, financing, international business, engineering, construction, sales, contracts, or procurement.
- Proven track record of success in providing strategic legal counsel and managing complex legal matters.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to build and motivate a high-performing team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong ethical principles and commitment to the highest standards of professionalism.
- Bilingual capability in Mandarin and English, with Mandarin language proficiency strongly preferred.

Compensation/salary range: $200,000 - $300,000 USD
